She later moved to New York City, where she continued her singing career and also began to act in films. She appeared in several films, including "The Cuban Love Song" (1931), "The Cuban Love Song" (1932), and "The Cuban Love Song" (1933). In the 1940s, Martí returned to Puerto Rico and continued to act in films and on stage. She also appeared in several television shows, including "El Show de Mona Martí" and "Mona Martí Show". Martí was married to actor and director José Ferrer from 1945 to 1951. She died on April 15, 1988 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
